War Department, February 5, 1856.

THE Queen has been graciously pleased to give orders for the following appointments to the Most Honourable Order of the Bath:

                      To be Ordinary Members of the Military Division of the Third Class, or Companions of the said Most Honourable Order, viz:

George Adams, Esq., Deputy Commissary General.
John William Smith, Esq., Deputy Commissary General.
William Henry Drake, Esq., Deputy Commissary General.

Wrote 2nd account of Sir G. M. 1 illness. His son, Capt. Maclean, 2 came down & consulted me. Dr. Beatson 3 went to see him.
