GENERAL ORDERS.
 
HEAD QUARTERS BEFORE SEBASTOPOL,
27th July, 1855

 
№ 6. Deputy Commissary General Drake, will take charge of the Commissariat Department, until the arrival of Commissary General Sir George Maclean from Constantinople.

WH Drake Journal

July 31. C. Genl. Sir G. Maclean arrived with ‘Hope’. Rode up to Head Quarters with him & introduced him to Genl. Simpson, Sir R. Airey, Genl. Barnard 1 etc. & he dined with us afterwards. Heavy rain at night.

Aug. 1st. Board of Survey on Chest on transfer to Sir G. Maclean. Heavy showers. Transferred the charge of the Depot to A.C.G. Morse. 2

Augt. 2. Cloudy. Slight shower. Recd. letters. Went with Sir G. Maclean to see Col. McMurdo on camp.
